A security source in the Iraqi capital Baghdad said, on Monday, that an American military aircraft was severely damaged after it hit the concrete blocks at the end of the tarmac, in an urgent landing in Taji base (north of Baghdad) due to a technical defect.
The source added that Iraqi fire brigades rushed to extinguish the fire after two of the plane engines ignited. No casualties were registered.
