he Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity will hold an exceptional meeting today, Monday.
The assistant secretary general, head of the economic affairs sector at the Arab League, Kamal Hassan Ali, stressed the importance of this meeting, noting that it is expected that the general agreement to establish the Arab Common Market for Electricity and the market agreement will be approved by the Arab states that are members of the council.
It is expected that most Arab electricity ministers will attend the meeting, as well as many organizations, bodies, unions and joint Arab action institutions.
The Extraordinary Joint Arab Meeting of Electricity Ministers comes amid Arab countries suffering from frequent blackouts, most notably Iraq, Lebanon and Sudan.
