Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Health and Environment announced the arrival of 500,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharma vaccine.
The ministry said in a statement received by “Al-Ghadeer”, that “a plane arrived from the State of China today, loaded with a meal of vaccines (500,000 doses), which is the third shipment provided by China in support of Iraq to confront the Corona pandemic.
She added, “The shipment was received in the presence of the Chinese Chargé d’Affairs Jian Fangning and his accompanying delegation, the Director General of Kimadia Ali Al-Baldawi, his assistant, the specialists in Kimadia and the ministry’s media team, and in the presence of a group of media outlets.”
The Ministry appreciated the efforts of friendly China and all countries and entities that provide support to the Ministry of Health and its staff to overcome the crisis of the Corona pandemic.
Al-Baldawi confirmed, according to the statement, that “the Ministry of Health has contracted with China to send two million doses of vaccines, and the total of vaccines that will reach Iraq will reach 48 million doses, including Sinopharma and Pfizer and vaccines provided by the Kafe Alliance to confront the pandemic.”
Al-Baldawi pointed out that “the boxes were distributed among the refrigerator fleet designated to transport them to the specified vaccination points in all governorates of Iraq, including the Kurdistan region, the displaced and the security forces.”
