Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji stressed the importance of the cohesion of the international community in order to combat terrorism, stressing the need to stand against it and pursue its cells wherever they are, until their elimination.
Al-Araji’s statements came during his meeting with the US ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski. A statement by the Office of the National Security Adviser stated that Al-Araji discussed on Tuesday with the US ambassador in Baghdad the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region, while the latter confirmed that the international community has a long way to go to defeat ISIS.
The statement quoted Al-Araji stressing the importance of the international community being cohesive against terrorism, noting that the recent bombing incident in Istanbul is a terrorist act, and it is necessary to stand against terrorism and pursue it wherever it is, until it is eliminated.
