Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani affirmed that the fight against administrative and financial corruption is among our priorities, because of this phenomenon of a serious threat to the overall plans, programs and policies implemented by any government, whether the federal government or local governments.
He said during a meeting attended by the Ministers of Health and Agriculture, the Governor of Diwaniyah, in addition to a number of undersecretaries of the relevant ministries and officials that our visit to Diwaniyah Governorate is a confirmation of the government’s message in adopting its priorities that we announced in the ministerial program, and therefore it is the government’s plan of action for this period.
Al-Sudani stressed that “our priorities are clear, and they stem from diagnosing the most important problems and obstacles facing our people in all governorates, which led to an increase in the suffering of citizens at various levels of living and service, accompanied by the government’s vision towards economic reform, which must be, and cannot be delayed in light of the deterioration and ineffectiveness of the various sectors that drive the economy, such as industry, agriculture and tourism.
He added that, according to this vision, we found it appropriate to start from Al-Diwaniyah, which is the governorate that leads the governorates in terms of poverty and unemployment, and in the weakness of economic activity at various levels, which greatly affected the service and living situation of the general population of the governorate of the martyrs and wounded at various stations that the country passed through, the most recent of which was the war against ISIS.
He added, “The visit to Al-Diwaniyah Governorate is a working visit, in which we review the problems, develop solutions, and listen if there are initiatives, we support them, and we come up with a sum of recommendations.
He said: “We have projects that are lagging on the service side, and the ministers and underscrtries present must stand on these projects, follow up on the reality of the departments’ work, develop solutions and go to the governorate’s allocations to see where they were allocated, and the sectors benefiting from them. First, we must arrange priorities, and choose the project, which achieves the greatest service and benefit to the citizen, especially when it comes to working with a governorate budget, which is directed to serve the people of the governorate first, by providing basic services to the governorates, that is why we are looking for priority projects. We hear about the ways of death, which took many of our citizens in traffic accidents, and this is a case that must end , and the existence of this term ends.
He said: “It is possible that these projects have priority, or any projects that you find serve the largest segment of citizens. The subject of social protection has priority. The state pays attention to this program, according to an internationally approved scientific methodology that contributes to poverty alleviation that mean only livelihood income, but we target Multidimensional poverty, which includes education, health and housing services, each governorate and each governorate must draw their service projects according to the poverty map that the Ministry of Planning provides.
