Iraqi MP for Fatah Alliance Hanin Qadu, Saturday, ruled out the ability of the government to meet all the demands of the public within 45 days only, saying that the government does not have a “magic wand” and warned against entering Iraq in a “dark tunnel.”
He added that “the meeting of political forces in Hakim’s house a few days ago came out with a number of recommendations and gave the government a period of 45 days to implement them, and make real reforms and respond to the demands of the demonstrators, but I doubt the ability of the government to respond to those demands during the specified period because it does not have a magic wand to achieve this.” He pointed out that “the government is required to carry out real reforms that meet the public demands.”
“Does the resignation of the government satisfy the ascending masses?” He asked, stressing that “there are high ceilings for some demands, such as demanding the total removal of the government and the political system, offset by rational demands that can be met within a certain period of time.”
