Iraq concludes a memorandum of understanding with Jordan in the field of transfer convicts.

The Ministry of Justice signed a Memorandum of Understanding with its Jordanian counterpart in the field of transferring those convicted of custodial sentences, except those convicted of terrorism cases.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Justice, Thaer al-Jubouri said in a statement on Tuesday that the Minister of Justice, Farouq Amin al-Shawani signed memorandum on the Iraqi side and the Jordanian Minister of Justice Bassam al-Talhouni.

He added that the memorandum of understanding took into account the laws and regulations of the two countries, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples. He pointed out that it excluded the transfer of convicts on terrorism issues, as they will be reciprocated between the two countries, and will be implemented in the coming days.

It is noteworthy that the memorandum was signed in the Jordanian capital Amman, and the Iraqi delegation included a number of general managers in the Ministry of Justice.
