In efforts to defend his policy on Turkey and Syria, US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Washington has been successful in keeping the oil in Syria.
Speaking at the start of a NATO meeting on Tuesday, Trump repeated the assertion that he “kept the oil” inside Syria, although he announced the withdrawal of the US troops from the Middle Eastern country in October.
“We can do with the oil that we want,” he said.
Asked if Ankara is a reliable member of the treaty organization, the US president noted that “it’s a country I have a good relationship with.”
“We did a deal that everybody was critical of. And it works.”
