Two-letter bombs have exploded in separate incidents in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, with no injuries reported.
“On Wednesday morning, an explosion took place in a mailroom of a business building just before 8 a.m., presumably caused by a bomb letter. No [one] injured,” Dutch police said on Wednesday.
Bomb squads were dispatched to the scene to investigate.
Separately on Wednesday, a letter package exploded at a mail sorting company in the Dutch city of Kerkrade, in the southern province of Limburg. Nobody was injured in the blast, either.
Police said the building was evacuated and investigations were ongoing, adding that it was still unknown if the two explosions were linked.
Since January, letter bombs have been sent to several businesses in the Netherlands, followed by a warning letter. Police said they appeared to have been sent by the same person, without giving details about a possible motive.
Previous targets have included a hotel, a gas station, a garage, a real estate agent, and a bill collection service.
