Iraq announced, on Wednesday, the transfer of 82 members of Daesh families to their country, Azerbaijan.
This came in a statement issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of which Alghadeer received a copy.
The statement quoted the ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, saying that “Iraq has deported 82 children staying with their mothers who have been sentenced to prison by the Iraqi judiciary for joining Daesh, to the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
Al-Sahaf indicated that “the number of children, of various nationalities who have been deported from Iraq, has reached 828 children,” without citing further details.
During the fierce war between Daesh and the Iraqi State, over three years (2014-2017), the Iraqi forces arrested thousands of militants and Daesh terrorists, including hundreds of foreigners of different nationalities.
The war ended with the Daesh losing all the lands that it has invaded in the summer of 2014, which was estimated to be one-third of the area of Iraq.
The Iraqi judiciary is trying local and foreign Daesh terrorists in accordance with Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law, which provides for sentencing anyone who participated, as the main perpetrator or a partner, in terrorist acts to death.
The perpetrator, planner, financier and whoever enabled the terrorists to carry out the crime shall be punished as the main perpetrator of the attack.
