Coronavirus: Crisis Cell in Iraq might extend the curfew

The crisis cell in Iraq might extend on Thursday, the curfew in the capital, Baghdad, and the rest of the Iraqi provinces, as part of combating the spread of Coronavirus.

“The curfew may last for a week or more, according to the data,” indicating that “the crisis cell has taken a number of measures and practices to curb the spread of the Corona epidemic in Iraq.” The official Iraqi News Agency said.

It added that “the Crisis Cell is monitoring the course of what is happening in the capital, Baghdad, and the rest of the provinces, including the Kurdistan Region, as well as transferring China’s experiences that have succeeded in limiting the spread of the epidemic.”

The government crisis cell for fighting Corona Virus decided on Sunday (15 – -3- 2020) to impose a comprehensive curfew in Baghdad for a week to reduce the spread of new Coronavirus.

It is noteworthy that the number of confirmed Corona infections in Iraq has risen to 167 (in addition to the Kurdistan Region), 47cases of recovery, and 12 deaths.
