A force from the 1st Brigade in the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) has foiled an attempt to target oil fields by ISIS, according to the official PMF website on Saturday.
The website stated that “based on the intensity of monitoring and follow-up operations to secure the sector of responsibility, a force from the 1st Brigade has foiled last night an attempt by ISIS militants to target the oil fields in Naft Khanna region in Diyala.”
The Website added that an ISIS group had infiltrated under cover of night to target the oil fields, but the brigade’s heroes opened fire at the terrorists which made them flee.
The website added that the brigade’s forces have increased their presence and conducted mobile patrols throughout the night in anticipation of any emergency within the sector of responsibility. “
