The chief physician at the New York University Medical Center, Wayne Riley, spoke of a shortage of personal protective equipment for doctors working with people with the Coronavirus.
According to Riley, doctors will soon have to replace surgical clothes with garbage bags and raincoats.
The doctor said, “The stock of personal protective equipment in its center will suffice for only a day and a half,” according to CNN.
Rayleigh explained that doctors do not have time to wait for compensation for the equipment shortage from state reserves. Rayleigh added: “So we have to be creative.”
On Monday, New York Mayor Bill de Palacio announced that the city’s medical supplies would be sufficient for only a week.
The United States is witnessing the highest rate of HIV infections announced by the WHO pandemic last month, with the number of infections exceeding two hundred thousand, and deaths at least 1,400.
On March 11, the World Health Organization classified the Coronavirus as a “global pandemic”, stressing that infection figures are rising very quickly, expressing concern that the infection may increase dramatically.
The epidemic forced many countries of the world, led by large countries with their capabilities and population, to take exceptional measures, ranging from a flight ban to declaring curfews and isolating entire regions, and even closing places of worship, to prevent the spread of deadly infections.
Globally, the number of newly infected Coronavirus, which first appeared in central China at the end of last year, exceeded one million and 162,000, and about 63,000 deaths, while the number of people recovered exceeded 244,000
