Iraqi president, premier discuss security, political situation

Iraqi President Barham Salih met at As Salam palace in Baghdad with Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, where they discussed the latest developments in the country.

The meeting tackled the security and political situation in Iraq and the latest developments of implementing the government platform to improve the quality of services offered to citizens, Salih’s media office said in a statement.

They stressed the need to unify visions among Iraqi political parties “pursuant to the national constants and the provisions of the constitution in order to enhance the sovereignty of the country.”

The two sides also called for expanding Iraq’s relations with fraternal and friendly countries, shedding light on the latest developments at the regional and international levels.
