Iraq continues to evacuate its nationals stranded abroad

The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced today, Monday, the conduct of extraordinary trips, to return the Iraqis stranded in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

And the media office in the ministry conveyed the announcement of the Ministry of Transport on the schedule of the exceptional flights of Iraqi Airways for Monday 13/4/2020 after obtaining the official approvals and the approval of the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety.

Earlier, the Ministry of Transport organized extraordinary trips to India and Russia, to return hundreds of Iraqis stranded abroad.

On Friday, April 10, the director of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, Dureid Yahya, announced the suspension of extraordinary flights by opening Iraqi airspace and airports for the purpose of returning Iraqis stranded abroad to the country.

It is worth mentioning that the Minister of Transport instructed the national carrier to prepare its fleet to implement direct extraordinary flights and to return the Iraqis who left the country during the past three months and were unable to return due to the suspension of air traffic in accordance with the decisions of the Diwaniyah Command Committee (55) for the year 2020.
