An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale has shaken the Myanmar-Indian border region, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said. The epicenter of the seismic activity was registered 35 kilometers southeast of Myanmar and 168 kilometers southeast of Aizawl in India, according to the EMSC.

According to the agency, the tremor struck at 10 kilometers below the earth’s surface.
There are no immediate details about whether the earthquake-damaged any buildings or caused any casualties in the area.
