The American police announced the arrest of a man who shot the headquarters of the Cuban embassy in Washington, DC.
The officer refused to reveal the name of the shooter, his motives and the number of bullets he fired, expressing his conviction that no human casualties were caused by the accident, and an investigation is underway to ascertain whether the embassy building suffered any material damage.
The Associated Press reported that the shooter was armed with an assault rifle. The Secret Service confirmed that the detainee faces charges of possessing unauthorized weapons, ammunition and combat equipment with the aim of killing people. And the “Washington Post” reported that investigators found in front of the embassy a car for the shooter, which is decorated with the American flag, and found a mask.
The Cuban embassy in Washington resumed its work after the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2015 after a hiatus of years.
