Egyptian Army: 15 soldiers were killed and wounded in the Sinai attack

The Egyptian army said today, Sunday, that 15 of its members were killed or injured in recent operations in the Sinai Peninsula, and that 126 terrorists were killed.
The General Command of the Armed Forces said in a statement: “As a result of the valiant hostilities of our armed forces in the areas of operations, four officers, three noncommissioned officers and eight soldiers were honored during the engagement and clearing the terrorist outposts.”

The statement also stated that “22 raids and 16 specific operations were carried out, resulting in the death of 126 takfiri individuals.”
This statement comes three days after the army announced that ten of its members were killed or wounded in an attack near the city of Bir al-Abd in North Sinai, which ISIS claimed responsibility for. Militants loyal to ISIS are active in the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula, where Egypt is fighting.
