Iraqi authorities are making preparations to construct a wall around Anbar province in efforts to stop the infiltration of the Islamic State (IS) terrorists into the province, an official said on Monday.
Rutba Mayor Emad Al-Dulaimi told reporters that the wall will be 16 kilometers long and two meters high stretching from the town of al-Waleed, Anbar province.
The project is under construction now, he said, noting that it aims at preventing the Islamic State terrorists from sneaking into the province.
This comes as there has been a dramatic increase in IS attacks in various areas in the country. The jihadists killed more than 40 Hashd al-Shaabi (PMF) in a recent attack.
