Players from FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico, as well as most of the clubs in the Spanish football league, were tested for the new coronavirus this Wednesday.
This is the first step of the protocol for the return of the teams to training. The tests are mandatory, by the labor law of Prevention and Health, for all players and coaching staff.
According to several press reports, players such as Lionel Messi of Barcelona, Eden Hazard of Real Madrid, and Marcos Llorente of Atletico were seen at their respective clubs on the day the tests were scheduled to take place.
The results of the tests will be ready in 48 hours and from that moment on the players can start to get ready, always under strict sanitary measures of distance and hygiene.
According to data provided by the League, the teams of First and Second will pass thousands of coronavirus tests from today and in the next 30 days. The results will be anonymous and the positive ones will go to quarantine.
Although Spain is one of the countries hardest hit by the new coronavirus pandemic in the world, the leaders of the football league have always been confident that the season would resume, even if it was in June or July, the usual months of vacation for the players.
This would reduce the financial losses caused by the championship being halted because of the pandemic, and also allow the campaign to end and a champion to be crowned without an asterisk
