Qasim Muhammad Salih assigned as Commander of the Land Forces

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa al-Kadhimi has decided on Monday, to assign Major General Qasim Muhammad Salih as the commander of the ground forces.

Al-Kadhimi issued today a bureau order to appoint Major General Qasim Muhammad Salih, who is the commander of Al-Jazeera forces, as the commander of the ground forces in the Iraqi army, a senior security source told Alghadeer.TV.

Yesterday, Minister of Defense, Juma’a Annad announced the nomination of three military leaders for the post of commander of the ground force in Iraq.

“Three candidates have been submitted to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to choose a candidate from among them for the position of commander of the ground force,” Annad said.

“The candidates are the commander of Al-Jazeera operations, Major General Qasim Al-Muhammadi, the commander of Anbar operations, Major General Nasser Al-Ghannam, and the commander of Nineveh operations, Major General Noman Al-Zobaie,” he added.

It is noteworthy that Juma’a Annad was the commander of the Iraqi ground force before he was chosen as Minister of Defense in the government of Mustafa Al-Kadhimi
