Al-Kadhimi warns from the spread of Corona

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi warned on Wednesday, of the increased spread of Corona virus, while instructing the security services to implement their duties to impose a curfew without complacency.

“The Higher Committee for Health and National Safety held its 9th session, on Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi as the agenda discussed the measures to curb Corona pandemic, developments in the health situation in Baghdad and the provinces, the level of commitment to the curfew, the risks and consequences of non-compliance in a number of regions,” A statement by Al-Kadhmi’s office reported to Alghadeer.tv.

The Prime Minister stressed “commitment to health protection guidelines, the implementation of the security services’ duties to impose a curfew without complacency in its appointed times, a total lockdown during Eid Al-Fitr holiday, and to emphasize the increase of awareness campaigns through media.”

Al-Kadhimi called “everyone to cooperate to avoid the increasing and spread of the infections risk and exposing the health system to more pressures exceeding its capacity, and affecting the ability to provide treatment services for other cases, as chronic diseases and others.”

The Committee listened to a report submitted by the Minister of Health and Environment on infection rates and its graph, recovery and death cases, noting an increase in infections requiring tougher measures to protect citizens from the risk of spreading the virus and warning from ignoring health advices.

The Supreme Committee discussed a number of organizational issues and granting facilities to enter the materials and equipment needed for one of the electrical stations, provided that they are subject to health protection measures, and preventing the import of a number of agricultural crops because they are available in large quantities in the local market.
