Vatican: The annexation of the West Bank endangers peace in the region

The Vatican expressed its concern for peace in the Middle East; Because of the intention of the Zionist entity to annex parts of the occupied West Bank.

A statement issued by the Vatican emphasized that with the “solution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, through a solution based on a PE, two Palestinian and Israeli states, in order to bring peace to the Holy Land,” he said.

The Vatican position was communicated to the Secretary of the Vatican Secretary for Relations with States, Bishop Paul Richard Gallagher, to the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Saeb Erekat. During a phone call, the latter made it.

The statement quoted Erekat as saying that he called Gallagher “to inform the Holy See of recent developments in the Palestinian territories, and the possibility of the entity imposing its sovereignty unilaterally over part of it, which further endangers the peace process.”

And last Sunday, the Zionist parliament approved the new unity government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former rival Benny Gantz.

In a speech to the Knesset, Netanyahu stressed that he would go ahead with a plan to annex parts of the occupied West Bank. According to the signed deal, as of July 1, the new government can start implementing the annexation step.
