Iraq suspends evacuating its citizens abroad

The Iraqi government have decided on Saturday to suspend the evacuation of Iraqi citizens from countries abroad for one week.

“The Higher Committee for Health and Safety decided to stop trips of Iraqi expatriates for a week to reorganize their return,”.

The Committee pointed to the imposition of one- week lockdown in Iraq, except for Kurdistan Region, noting to “suspending all government institutions excluding health, security agencies and service departments.”

“Supermarkets and grocers shops will be allowed to work on condition that the preventive measures are taken,” revealing “the security forces have tightening their procedures within the popular areas to prevent gatherings,”.
