Security operation launched near the Iraqi-Syrian border

Iraq launched a military operation on Monday, targeting the presence of ISIS gangs towards the border with Syria.

Sources told “Al-Ghadeer” website that “the operation was launched in the depth of the desert of Nineveh to eliminate ISIS remnants and cleanse the border strip between Iraq and Syria.”

Adding that the operation involves the 15,20th division of the Iraqi army, Western Nineveh Operations Command, Salahuddin Operations Command, Ansar al-Marjiyah Brigade (Popular Mobilization Forces), and with the support of the Army’s Air Force and Military Engineering.
