Mehran outlet is now open for freight transport

The general director of the Customs Department of Ilam Province (west Iran) announced that Iraqi trucks will enter Mehran border port for freight transport, as a part of a bilateral agreement.

In a statement today, Monday, Ruhullah Gholami said that the process of loading 250 Iraqi trucks with Iranian cargo began today.

He indicated that Mehran International Crossing, which is met by Iraqi Zarbatiya, is reopened exclusively for the transportation of goods. Starting from the next week, Sunday and Monday will be devoted for commercial activities.

It is noteworthy that Mehran outlet had been closed for 3 months due to Covid-19’s outbreak.
