Salih Meets Saudi King and Stresses Iraq’s Desire to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Iraq’s President Barham Salih met  Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on the sidelines of the Arab-European Summit.

Salih highlighted Iraq’s keenness to enhance relations with the Kingdom and all neighboring countries in a way that serves the common interests.

The President stressed that Iraq has adopted a policy of openness towards its Arab and regional surrounding, and has a keen desire to promote and consolidate the foundations of peace and stability in the region, as well as to reduce tensions and crises on the Arab and regional arenas.

For his part, the Saudi monarch highlighted his country’s keenness on the unity of Iraq, and reiterated that the Kingdom stand by Iraq’s side in addressing the terrorist gangs.

His Majesty expressed his hope to expand the horizons of cooperation in all fields to serve the two brotherly peoples.

The President and King Salman exchanged views on several issues and developments at the Arab and international levels.
