A 5.8 earthquake struck in central California Wednesday morning, with aftershocks shaking the area between Fresno and Bakersfield, north of the Mojave Desert.
According to the US Geological Society, people up and down California reported feeling the quake when it happened around 10:30 a.m. PT. Self-reported accounts on the USGS website show people as far north as Sacramento, and down the south side of Los Angeles felt shaking from the earthquake.
Several aftershocks were reported around the epicenter, ranging in scale from 2.5 to 4.4 on the Richter scale.
