The senior weather forecaster at Basra International Airport, Sadiq Atia, revealed that very high levels of UV were recorded in Iraqi airspace at noon.
Atia said, in his personal page, “The UV index in the Iraqi airspace at noon is recording very high levels because of increased solar radiation during this period.”
He stressed the need to take additional precautions to protect the skin and eyes from sunlight during the day during in time from 11 am to 4 pm.
For his part, the weather forecaster, Hussein Al-Asadi, said that the southern regions of the country are still recording the highest temperature in the world, expecting a further increase in temperatures during tomorrow and the coming days.
Al-Asadi also expected an increase in humidity levels in the southern regions due to the stillness of the wind and its shift to southeastern periodically.
