Joint Operations Command: The Handover Of Basmayah Camp Came Within A Timetable

The Joint Operations Command confirmed today, Saturday that handing over Basmayah camp by the International Coalition came within a timetable.

The spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, said in a press statement today: “The handover of the site of the Basmayah Camp by Spanish forces within the International Coalition came according to a timetable prepared between the government and the leadership of the coalition,” noting that “this camp is the seventh site handed over by the International Coalition to Iraq”.

Al-Khafaji added that “the Spanish forces that were operating this site assumed responsibility for training the Iraqi security forces,” noting that “these forces will leave Iraq after they have completed their duties.”

He explained that “there are other sites that will be handed over to the Iraqi security forces from the leadership of the international coalition.”

The leadership of the international coalition announced today, Saturday, the handing over of its location in Basmayah camp, while praising the role of the Iraqi forces in combating terrorism.
