The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, announced on Sunday, the arrest of the “most dangerous terrorist” who participated in the Camp Speicher massacre.
Rasoul said in a statement, “The anti-terrorism forces were able, through field follow-up and months of efforts, to arrest the terrorist, who is considered one of the most dangerous terrorists who participated in the Camp Speicher massacre”, adding that the arrest took place in Saladin governorate.
Rasool noted that the operation came, “according to the directives of the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi”, pointing that the counterterrorism forces also managed to arrest, “two terrorists in Nineveh and Saladin governorates”
ISIS had committed a massacre against students of the military college known as the Camp Speicher in Saladin governorate, as about 1,700 soldiers and students were executed, in one of the most horrific massacres during its invasion of northern and western Iraq in the summer of 2014.
