Iran’s Presidential elections | Wide participation of the Iranian community across Iraq.

Voting process at the Iranian embassy and six consulates across Iraq, in Karbala, Najaf, Basra, Sulaymaniyah, and Erbil, witnessed a massive turnout of voters to elect a President of the Republic.

Al-Ghadeer sources at the Iranian embassy in Baghdad reported that the turnout was high in the elections, adding that Iraq was living in special circumstances due to the Corona pandemic and the closure of border crossings for ordinary people, as participation was limited to Iranian families residing in Iraq and Iranian women married to Iraqis.

Source added that there is a heavy turnout at the ballot boxes in Iraq and the electoral process in the embassy and consulates, explaining that the electoral process in Iraq continues until 6 o’clock Baghdad time.

He added that there are six boxes stationed in the embassy and consulates, as well as mobile boxes in other cities and governorates of Iraq, including Kirkuk and Nasiriyah, to receive Iranian voters residing in Iraq.
