Electoral Commission addresses 70 embassies, Int organizations to monitor upcoming Iraqi elections

The Independent High Electoral Commission announced yesterday that it has invited more than 70 Arab, and foreign embassies, and international organizations to participate in observing the upcoming legislative elections.

The election expected to be held on the tenth of October, 2021.

“The international observation of the elections is critical,” pointing out that 51 Arab and foreign embassies were addressed, as well as 19 international organizations.

She added: “A large number of Arab and foreign ambassadors visited the commission and expressed their desire to participate in monitoring the elections, as the communication is still going on between the commission, embassies, and the international organizations.”

Al-Ghalai reiterated her “the readiness of the commission to hold the elections on time, as the preparation is going according to time frames set for it.”

In addition, units of the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency in the Ministry of Interior arrested a terrorist in Kirkuk province, while collecting information about the security services and giving it to the ISIS terrorist organization.
