Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces thwart attempt to detonate a car bomb in Anbar

Anbar Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced, on Friday, the control of an ISIS bombed vehicle, seizing a number of medium and light weapons in a preemptive operation in the Qaim district, west of Anbar.

Anbar PMF Operations Commander Qassem Musleh said in a statement seen by Alghadeer, “This operation came after the intersection of intelligence information with the relevant authorities, during which we were able to find an ISIS guesthouse containing an abandoned car bomb, a pickup type. Also, ISIS documents related to the circulation of money, the Education Bureau, marriage contracts, and a database of members of the security services and wanted persons were seized in Al-Qaim district, west of Anbar.

Mosleh added, “A large number of various types of ordnance, as well as the BKC weapon, RBG7 shells with their ammunition, three, Steyr sniper, Kalashnikov type weapons with their ammunition, medium weapons of type 14.5 and a weapon of 12.5 were seized.”
