The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced, on Saturday, that Iraq has achieved more than one hundred thousand scientific research published in international journals .
A statement by the ministry, a copy of which was received by “Al-Ghadeer” on July 10, 2021, stated that “Iraqi universities and colleges have recorded an increasing global publication of more than one hundred thousand scientific research in Scopus and Clarivate journals .”
“With this, the Iraqi government and private academic institutions have strengthened their position in global publishing, as the Iraqi scientific publication index in containers has risen to one hundred and six thousand five hundred and seventy-nine research distributed among Scopus and Clarivate containers (Web of Science).”
Seventy-nine governmental and private universities and colleges participated in these results, while these data topped the hierarchy of government institutions: the University of Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriya, Babylon, Technology, Basra, Mosul, and Kufa, while the Future College, Al-Rafidain University College, the Islamic University in Najaf, and Al-Isra University College emerged Al-Mansour University College and Al-Kafeel University.
He pointed out that “the portal specialized in scientific journals and indicators for the classification of countries, Scimago Journal: & Country Rank, has shown that Iraq occupies the forty-fifth place globally, sixth in the Middle East and third in the Arab world by publishing scientific research in various disciplines.”
