A member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, MP Abdul-Khaleq Al-Azzawi, revealed today, Tuesday, (July 13/2021), the issuance of an urgent directive from Baghdad regarding Hawi Al-Azeem.
Al-Azzawi said in a press statement, “The joint operations issued an urgent directive to the commander of Diyala operations regarding the Hawi al-Azeem file (70 km north of Baquba) after the recent violations, especially in the vicinity of the village of Albu Bakr, which claimed many martyrs due to ISIS terrorist attacks.”
He added, “The operations began by opening stationing points and establishing security belts around the village of Albu Bakr and the nearby village of Abu Skhul in order to ward off any dangers of terrorist infiltration and prevent any attacks targeting families,” stressing that “the plan to seize the land will be hampered by the return of the displaced families.”
He pointed out that “the borders of Diyala with Salah al-Din within the al-Hawi Basin still suffer from voids and loopholes that are exploited by ISIS to infiltrate and launch attacks on the liberated villages, which calls for a comprehensive plan that takes into account the voids in Salah al-Din, which have turned into dens and starting points for terrorist groups towards Diyala.”
About a month ago, the village of Al-Bu Bakr was attacked by the terrorist Daesh, which led to the death of 7, including a woman, and the injury of 2 others.
