Araji and McGurk discuss the upcoming visit to Washington

The National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji discussed today, Thursday, with the White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk the upcoming visit of the Iraqi delegation to Washington.

The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received in his office the White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Brett McGurk and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the American ambassador in Baghdad, Matthew Tueller,” noting that “during the meeting, the security and regional situations were discussed, and ways to work to calm the situation in the region, to create a more stable atmosphere.”

He added, “The two sides discussed the upcoming visit of the Iraqi delegation to Washington, in addition to the withdrawal of foreign combat forces from Iraq, and the relations between the two countries.”
