Iraq and Jordan on Thursday signed an agreement to implement an electrical linkage project between the two countries, a statement said.
Adil Karim, Iraq’s Minister of Electricity, met with Hala Zawati, the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, to discuss the executive stages of establishing the electrical connection between the two countries, a statement by Petra Agency explained.
They also stressed determining the requirements, transmission lines, specifications, and other necessary equipment to complete the process, according to the statement.
The project was reportedly signed by Iraq’s Director of the General Company for Electricity Transmission / Central Region, Burak Saad Nour Abdullah, as well as the Jordanian Director-General of the National Electricity Company, Amjad Al-Rawashdeh.
