Iraqi security forces on Saturday captured three members of the Islamic State (IS) in different provinces, a statement said.
The Iraqi Security Media Cell pointed out in a statement on Twitter that two of the militants were captured in Anbar while the other one was in Salahaddin provinces.
Accurate intelligence information had been obtained by the military intelligence of the Defense Ministry on the jihadists, the statement said, noting that the operation was carried out by the forces of the Anbar Operations Command.
Islamic State was announced as “fully defeated” by Iraq in 2017, but the terrorist group still poses a serious threat to the security forces and civilians in Iraq.
