On Sunday, August 8, 2021, the Electoral Commission announced the development of a plan for distributing biometric cards to registration centers, while indicating that there are more than 4 million biometric cards in registration centers.
Commission spokeswoman Jumana Al-Ghalay said in a press statement followed by Al-Ghadeer, that the commission has developed a plan to distribute the biometric cards that were received from the Spanish company Andra, which were distributed to the offices of the commission after being audited and ensuring that they conform to the technical specifications and distributed among the registration centers.
She added that there are more than 4 million biometric cards in the registration centers.
Indicating that the Commission received nearly two million and 500 thousand biometric cards for those who updated their data, in addition to the fact that there are approximately more than two and a half million cards present in the registration centers from the previous elections, thus there are more than 4 million biometric cards entitled to vote.
She added that the Electoral Commission will operate mobile teams, especially in remote areas, for voters who cannot reach to receive their biometric cards, and they will be delivered to their homes.
