Fierce Battles at Tarmiyah, North of Baghdad; A terrorist leader has been killed

Iraqi security source reports a fierce battle between army forces and ISIS terrorist members in Tarmiyah.

The source said in an interview with “Al-Ghadeer” (August 9, 2021), that “continued clashes are taking place now between forces from the 54th Brigade of the Iraqi army and elements of ISIS in Shatt al-Tabi Street in the Tarmiyah district, north of the capital Baghdad.”

The source explained, on condition of anonymity, that “the initial information indicates the killing of a senior leader of the terrorist group.”

Noting that “the battles resulted in the martyrdom of two soldiers.”

He also pointed out that “forces from the tribes are supporting the army in the ongoing battle.”

While the official agency stated, “National Security managed to kill a suicide bombers’ transporter in Tarmiyah, north of Baghdad.”
