The head of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, confirmed, on Thursday, that he seeks to form a majority government or go to the opposition.
“We are seeking to form a national majority government, and our word is either a national majority government or we will go to the national opposition,” Al-Sadr said in a televised speech, followed by Al-Ghadeer.
He added, “The people are looking forward to announcing the election results and forming a government quickly, and we are in favor of forming a national majority government or a national opposition.”
Al-Sadr responded jokingly to a question about the shape of the next prime minister and said: “I do not know whether it is permissible to be white or dark-skinned.”
