Joint Operations: US combat forces completed their withdrawal from Ain Al-Assad base

The spokesman for the Iraqi joint operations, Mr. Tahsin al-Khafaji, confirmed that the U.S. combat forces have completed their withdrawal from the “Ain al-Assad” base in western Iraq.

Al-Khafaji said in a statement today that “only military advisors remain in the base, and their role is limited to advisory only”.

He continued, “As for the Al-Harir base in Northern Iraq, a special security delegation will go during the next few days to follow up on the process of withdrawing US combat forces from there.”

He pointed out that the official announcement of the withdrawal of all American combat forces from Iraq will take place on December 31
