National Security Adviser Qassim Al-Araji stressed that Iraq is keen on its Arab depth and seeks to consolidate the security and stability of the region.
Al-Araji, received in his office the Lebanese Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Maurice Selim, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Lebanese ambassador in Baghdad, according to a statement by the media office of the National Security Adviser, received by al-GhadeerTv.
Both discussed strengthening the brotherly relations between Baghdad and Beirut and ways to improve it, in addition to the development of security and military cooperation between the two countries, including signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Iraqi and Lebanese Defense Ministries in the military field.
Al-Araji noted that “disintegration, rivalry and conflicts are not in the interest of the Arabs,” indicat ing that “the principles of wisdom, moderation and tolerance should be the choices in confronting crises in the region,”
For his part, the Lebanese Minister of Defense stressed the “importance of paying attention to the common interests that unite the Arab brothers, and striving to strengthen them, in a manner that serves the interests that unite the Arab countries,”
