The coordination framework pacified on Sunday, two options for the nomination of the speaker of parliament and his two deputies, as well as the election of the President of the Republic, while noting that there are multiple scenarios after the swearing-in of the constitutional oath.
“There is still no agreement between the coordination framework and Sadrist Bloc, given that the two sides represent the largest bloc,” State of Law coalition member Mohammed al-Sayhud told the Iraqi News Agency, adding that “We are in front of multiple scenarios after taking the constitutional oath
“We have two options, if there is an agreement with the Sadrist bloc as the most numerous parliamentary bloc, we will proceed with other procedures in selecting the president and his two deputies as well as electing the president of the republic, but if there is no agreement and it is now happening, we believe that the session will be extended for the purpose of deliberation,” he said.
“The two blocs, the coordination framework and the Sadrist bloc, have collected signatures, and both parties say they are the most numerous bloc,” he said, affirming that “we intend to reach an agreement between the two parties”.
