The outgoing President of the Republic, Barham Salih, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Belgian Ambassador, Philippe Vanden Polk, ways of cooperation between the two countries.
A statement by the Office of the Presidency of the Republic said that the latter “received today at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Belgian ambassador accredited to Iraq Philip Vanden Polk, and discussed friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in various fields, and the importance of continuing joint cooperation between Iraq and Belgium to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.” As well as cooperation between Iraq and the European Union and its strengthening.
He added, “The importance of easing tensions in the region and relying on dialogue in resolving outstanding issues was emphasized.”
