MP of f the Coordinating Framework Coalition, Aref Al-Hamami, stressed the impossibility of the framework forces participating in the presidential election session without political consensus, indicating that the doors of negotiations between the Coordination Framework and the FPM are still open.
Al-Hamami said in a statement followed by Al-Ghadeer that “the session to elect the Parliamentary President of the Republic will not be attended by the forces of the coordinating framework without a clear political consensus with the tripartite alliance.”
He added, “The vote on choosing the president of the republic depends on understandings and agreement with everyone, and no candidate, whether from the Democratic or the National Union, can be passed without the consensus of the Shiite forces.”
Al-Hamami indicated that “the consensus on choosing the President of the Republic will be in the very near future because time is raiding Parliament and putting pressure on the political blocs, and the delay is not in Iraq’s interest in all economic, political and security aspects.”
