Brazil in talks with Guardiola’s agent – Reports

Brazil in talks with Guardiola's agent: Reports.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly been offered the chance to take his ‘dream’ first step into international football, with Brazil willing to pay him £10million per year to become their new manager.

They will face stiff competition as the Dutch FA are said to have also drawn up plans to convince the 51-year-old to join them as an international coach at the end of his reign with City.

Guardiola has a contract at City until 2023, and it is possible that he will end his trophy-laden spell with the reigning Premier League champions.

The Spaniard has frequently expressed his interest in moving into the international game and the famous Selecao is described as his dream option.

Current manager Tite has already confirmed that he will leave his post following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Brazilian FA has sounded out Guardiola already as his successor, according to Spanish outlet Marca.

Brazil would hope that the former Barcelona boss could lead them in the 2024 Copa America and stay until at least the 2026 World Cup in the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico.

‘The next step will be a national team, yes, if there’s a chance,’ Guardiola declared at the beginning of the season.

‘I must have a break after seven years (at City), I need to stop to watch, learn from other players, and maybe that is the road I will take.

‘I would like to coach at the Euros, a Copa America, a World Cup.’

When asked specifically about the iconic Brazilian team, Guardiola added: ‘It is a fantastic national team.

‘Brazil is always a strong candidate or the favourite. It always was and it will always be.’
