In a statement released on Monday, the presidency warned that the Israeli court’s ruling was a serious violation of the existing historical status quo of al-Haram al-Sharif and flagrant defiance of international law and United Nations resolutions.
It further censured the Israeli right-wing groups and organizers for rolling the so-called March of the Flags in the occupied holy city on May 29.
The al-Aqsa Mosque compound, known to Jews as the Temple Mount and located in the occupied Old City of al-Quds, is a flashpoint. Under a 1967 deal between Israel and Jordan, the compound’s custodian, non-Muslim worship is prohibited at the site. In defiance of the agreement, Israel allows settlers to enter the site and carry out religious rituals.
Elsewhere, the presidency demanded the US administration, the main backer of the Israeli regime, to immediately intervene to stop the Israeli assaults on the Palestinian people and their holy places.
It also called on the Palestinian people to confront such incursions, stressing that al-Quds with its Christian and Muslim citizens and their holy sites, remains the eternal capital of Palestine.
Separately, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the Israeli ruling is new proof that the Israeli judiciary is an integral part of the occupying regime. It held the Israeli regime directly responsible for this decision and its serious consequences.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry also in a statement said the decision is null and void and has no legal weight as per international law which does not recognize Israel’s court jurisdiction over the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967, including East al-Quds.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Haitham Abu al-Fool also warned against allowing Jewish extremists from violating the sanctity of al-Aqsa Mosque, which is a purely Muslim holy place.
There has been recently a sheer escalation of atrocities by the Israeli regime against Palestinian worshipers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the holy occupied city of al-Quds. Outraged by the barbarity, Palestinian resistance groups have intensified their operations throughout the occupied territories.

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has already warned that a far-right Israeli group’s call to demolish the Dome of the Rock in the occupied Old City of al-Quds and build a temple on its ruins is “playing with fire” that would backfire on the occupying regime.
More than 150,000 Palestinians thronged al-Aqsa Mosque to attend prayers on the last Friday of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, known as Quds Day, amid heightened tensions over Israeli raids.
