The head of the al-Fateh coalition, Hadi al-Ameri, received on Tuesday the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.
A statement by Mr. al-Amiri’s office said that the meeting discussed the latest developments in the country and ways to address the current political impasse.
On Sunday, al-Ameri launched a new initiative seeking to ease the political tension in Iraq, urging the influential parties to convene on negotiations tables amid rising tension on the streets.
